Two More Blocks Blocked :)

That's right! I'm so happy :) block 3 and 4 are all blocked and dry and ready for the grand finale! block 5 is blocking right now. I'm taking a little break from the afghan, probably a week, to catch up on my other knitting. But I'll be back!!!

These look fantastic. I especially like the second one.

What blocking method are you using for these? I'm thinking it's time to start blocking mine, but hadn't given it much thought yet. I don't want to stretch out the cables too much either.

Suggestions anyone? I'm using encore, so I know I can't do too much in blocking, but I want to give it a shot.

I like the second one too. Was it hard?

I too am interested in how people are blocking, and what kind of yarn they're using...I'm using encore too.

Beautiful, Carissa! I can't wait to do Dagmara's square. That's one of my favorites... but, I'm doing them in order so it will be #19 for me.

I'm using Encore too and I do a full wet block, squeezing out excess water, then shaping it to a 12" square and pinning the corners. I actually wet block most of my knitting except for very fine or delicate yarns, then I'll steam or spritz block them.

Another thought...
I'm finding that blocking is great for cables. It really evens and opens them up. And I use a fork to *gently* nudge them into straight lines while it's still wet. :)

For blocking I using the wet method :) I soak the block in cold water with Zero, rinse, squeeze, roll in a towel, then pin out to the 12" size and leave it to dry. I love using this method for all of my knits ... it really sets the stitches and even everything out nicely :)

The second block was really easy :) I did change the inc2 sts thought ... she had you doing knit, purl, knit in one stitch .. I find that that gives a nice hole there. Instead I used the knit thru front, knit thru back, drop, pick up the vertical strand and twist knit one more. Much nicer, and no hole :)

Thanks for the comments !
